Intrasis Analysis is GIS software especially designed for archaeologists. Data created and stored in Intrasis Explorer is easily analyzed and visualized. It contains the functions most commonly used by archaeologists and built-in Wizards help the user with analysis, e.g. distribution maps.
Data can be exported to other formats for publication or other purposes. Performed analyses are stored in Esri geodatabases and can therefore, when needed, be instantly used in ArcGIS.
By the direct connection to the site database the user always has access to the latest data. The software is, as Intrasis Explorer, easy to use and only requires minimal training.
Latest versions of Intrasis Analysis are:
Ver. 1.1.11 (ArcGIS 9.2 or 9.3)
Ver. 1.2.12 (ArcGIS 10, but not 10.1)
Create a new Intrasis Analysis project
When a new project is created in Intrasis Analysis the user has to select Intrasis site database. In this way the GIS analysis is always performed on current data and the problem of data versions are avoided. Thanks to the structured data storage in Intrasis it is then simple to choose data for analysis. As Intrasis Analysis works with copies of the site data it creates self-confidence for the user – no data can be destroyed.
Intrasis Analysis functions
The site data can be viewed as thematic maps or tables. An information tool gives direct access to all associated or related data for a selected object. External data can be added to the Intrasis Analysis project for extended information. Queries can be created and the results can be exported into new layers or tables
Perform analysis with the help of wizards
The software contains wizards to simplify analyses. The different analyses are made possible by the structured data storage. Most frequent used is the Distribution Wizard which facilitates the possibility of fast and easy distribution maps of artefacts or perhaps results from phosphate sampling. This gives the user a quicker understanding and overview of the excavation.
